JULY 10 | Fans of book series The Clique can win a chance to be featured in Warner Premiere’s upcoming made-for-DVD adaptation of the teen girl franchise.
To enter, fans must make an audition video, in which they read from a choice of two scripts, and upload it to Web site SugarLoot. SugarLoot site visitors will rank the entries.
Warner Premiere, Warner Home Video’s DVD premiere unit, will send five top vote getters to a meeting with The Clique DVD casting team, who will pick the best actress for the role. More than 60 runners-up will win such prizes as Dell notebooks and JVC camcorders.
“Contests are a great way to connect with an audience that enjoys doing creative things and getting noticed,” said Andrew Bender, general manager of SugarLoot. “Warner Premiere selected SugarLoot to run this contest because participants—both entrants and voters—will be immersed in an experience that combines user-generated content with equity of The Clique property, including the trademark plaid cover design. It’s compelling, and it reinforces the brand’s personality.”
Warner Premiere and Alloy Entertainment are targeting The Clique DVD for a 2008 bow. In the U.S., The Clique novels have sold more than 4 million copies.
